Simeon Broom    violin

Simeon Broom began the violin at the age of 4 years in Auckland, New Zealand. After completing studies at Auckland University in Performance violin, Simeon moved to Germany where he studied at the Hochschule für Musik, Düsseldorf with Professor Ida Bieler, and played in the Gürzenich Orchestra in Cologne.

Since 2006 Simeon has studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He was 3rd Prize winner in the ‘Young Musicians’ Competition New Zealand’, and finalist in the Beares Solo Bach Competition.

He has performed as soloist with orchestras both in New Zealand and in Germany, ranging from the Auckland Philharmonic to the Hannover Jungend Sinfonieorchester.
